This massage actively manipulates both superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Your therapist will use various techniques such as cross fiber friction, PIR, and trigger point therapy to aid in the healing process of tight muscles. These techniques will enhance muscle function, decrease muscle reflex activity and inhibit motor-neuron excitability which translates to decreased pain and increased range of motion.

PRENATAL MASSAGE

Designed to aid with sleep, digestion, physical pains, and trimester specific issues. The pressure ranges from light to medium with a focus on common aches like sciatic and low back pain. Must be past your first trimester (12 weeks)

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Gathered from Ecola State Park’s Indian Beach, these black, smooth stones will radiate warmth to penetrate tight and sore muscles. The rocks utilize thermal energy to relieve stress collected in different parts of the body. This is a comforting and pleasurable experience on chilly Northwest days and encourages grounding. Only available October through May.

Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is a highly effective physical therapy technique that works with the nervous system to reduce pain, improve circulation and increase elasticity. Excellent for stiff joints and chronic muscle problems. Originally developed for professional athletes, AIS is considered a myofascial release technique.
